Back in 1929, Memphis Minnie – whose 127th birthday was a week ago – dropped When The Levee Breaks, together with Kansas Joe McCoy. 42 years later, Led Zeppelin reworked the track on their untitled fourth album – and now, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss have covered it again to mark the launch of their Can’t Let Go summer tour, which will include two shows at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Tuesday and Wednesday August 13 and 14. It’s their first single since 2021’s Raise The Roof.
