Back in 1987, U2 shot the video for I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas. Last night, they shot another one in almost the same location, as they introduced a new song called Atomic City.
According to U2 Songs, the new track will drop to as they begin their residency at the MSG Sphere on Friday September 29. They played Atomic City a number of times during the shoot, with Bono saying, “This is the world premiere of ‘Atomic City,’ a rock ‘n’ roll 45-inch tradition of late 70’s post punk if you are interested … Blondie, The Clash.” Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, and Larry Mullen Jr. were on hand for the shoot, but Mullen will not be on board at the Sphere shows, since he’s recovering from surgery.
