While many artists have eschewed artificial intelligence, Paul McCartney is here for it – and he’s used it to create the “final” song from The Beatles.
McCartney says he used the technology to extract the late John Lennon‘s voice from an old demo to finally complete the track. He got the demo – containing a number of tunes and labelled “for Paul” – from Yoko Ono in 1994. He, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison tried to finish one of the songs, but had no luck. As well, as McCartney says, “George didn’t like it. The Beatles being a democracy, we didn’t do it.”
The title of the song hasn’t been revealed, but word on the street is that it’s Now And Then, from 1978. McCartney says it will drop sometime this year.
