As was the case with all the teasing prior to the Rolling Stones‘ Hackney Diamonds album dropping three-ish years ago, speculation is rampant in London after posters popped up all over the city, which read The Cockroaches and include a QR code, which leads to a new website, thecockroaches.com. Huh. In The Long Ago Before Times™, The Stones played a surprise gig under a pseudonym: Blue Sunday and The Cockroaches.

When you click the SIGN UP button on the site, the page reads Who the fuck are The Cockroaches? and invites you to register for updates. That’s reminiscent of the time Ronnie Wood wore a t shirt bearing the legend Who the fuck is Mick Jagger? Huh, again. Also, the page is copyrighted by Universal Music, which is the Stones’ record label.
Most peculiar, mama. Is another popup gig in the works, or are we about to get the new album about which Keef has been mumbling for quite a while? Place your bets.
