And you thought YOU were a baseball fanatic.
Geddy Lee has an absolutely mind-boggling collection of all kinds of baseball memorabilia, acquired over 35 years or so — and he’s decided to auction it off via Christie’s.
Says the Rush bassman and vocalist: “It’s been an education and privilege for the past 35 years to amass a wonderful and supremely mammoth collection of baseball memorabilia. Yet, I’ve decided it’s time to move some of it on for other collectors to enjoy. What an effin’ blast it’s been, but I must have had too much stuff because after these selections were sent to Christie’s, my wife stepped into my office and said, ‘Hey! I thought you were selling some of your collection??’ … Uh, yeah Honey, I am … Oopsie!”
That’s right. Geddy Lee actually said “oopsie”.

The awe-inspiring assortment includes the Atlanta Braves jersey Hank Aaron was wearing when he hit his 500th career home run in 1968, a hard to find 1938 Babe Ruth Brooklyn Dodgers uniform, a ball autographed by all four members of the Beatles from their 1965 Shea Stadium show, and a boatload of other items.
Later this month, Lee will hit the road on a North American book tour for his memoir, My Effin’ Life. As well, his new docuseries about fellow bass players will come to Paramount+ next month.
