As wildfires tear through communities in British Columbia, a number of organizations have stepped up to help with relief efforts.
The United Way Of Canada has a dedicated wildfire relief fund, with the first $20,000 worth of donations being matched by Interior Savings and Gulf & Fraser. As well, the Canadian Red Cross has a BC Wildfire Appeal, and the BC Salvation Army has a dedicated site.
Remember that disasters tend to bring scammers out of the woodwork, so it’s worth checking the CanadaHelps list of verified organizations.
