Ryan Awram

The Q Afternoon Show (weekdays 2:00-6:00 pm)

When Ryan is not listening to rock, he's reading a book about music.

And when he's not reading about rock n' roll, Ryan is at home trying to play some on his bass, vintage keyboard and guitar.

Ryan's idea of a good conversation starter is debating who you like best; The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin?

The Q presents fellow Canadian, rocker Paul Rodgers to Victoria

The Q has announced Paul Rodgers is coming to Victoria. He'll play the Royal Theatre on Sunday March 18. Rodgers is the legendary frontman of bands like Free, Bad Company and The Firm.

Maybe you saw Paul Rodgers in Vancouver when he was singing for Queen. And there's a memorable show he put on at The Strathcona Hotel in Victoria several years ago.

"Hey, Ryan! Where can I find that Langford Man song from The Q?"

(for info on Langford's coat of arms click here)

The Q's All Bad Band has had a couple of hit singles. Langford Man would be their biggest. I don't have the chart statistics on hand, but they are impressive.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. It snowed last week.

And 5 days later, that's what's left of our "blizzard" (not my word) in Victoria.

100.3 The Q is The Island's Rock. We don't take ourselves too seriously, and aren't a "boys club" like some stations. Men and women who love rock enjoy Q music and find our mediocre entertainment mostly passable.

The Q mixes classics from artists like Aerosmith, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones with newer rock from the likes of U2, the Foo Fighters and the Dave Matthews Band.
