Atomic Vaudeville is celebrating 20 years of live art! At its inception in 2004, AV sought to be a voice of the city. Over the years they’ve produced 86 cabaret shows (soon to be 87), multiple productions of Rocky Horror and Hedwig, the original production of smash hit musical Ride the Cyclone, built the world of riot grrrl band The Batshits with a short film and new musical, and facilitated clown workshops that encourage participants to disregard shame and be present in their bodies.
The artist-led culture of Atomic Vaudeville amplifies voices that expand the integrity of our human experience through theatre and live performance. Thank you for two decades of creative community!

Themes of personal and planetary health, regeneration and healing are woven into the premiere performance and book launch of Metamorphosis: A Healing Journey blossoming forth during Earth Week.
This collaborative, multi-media project features flamenco and improv dancers from Lynda Raino Studios; two lyricists; a special ensemble of voices from the Victoria Philharmonic Choir, under the direction of Peter Butterfield; a leading Indigenous poet and performer; a 10-year-old “wild spirit”; a land defender; a Namgisan medicine woman from Alert Bay; the senior government liaison for Global Climate Emergency Response at the United Nations Institute for Water, Environment and Health; two professional photographers; plus a retired policy maker, now a musician, filmmaker and producer. All share cathartic life-changing experiences that brought them to a metamorphosis in their healing journey and connection with nature.
The performance and book launch was conceptualized by professional photographer/producer Frances Litman, on behalf of the Creatively United for the Planet non-profit society, in collaboration with Climate and the Arts founder, Jonathan O’Riordan.
Monique Salez, an accomplished dancer, choreographer and storyweaver with Raino Dance, is the director, with Lynda Raino, the grand dame of dance, lending an outside eye.
The 120-page art book will be available for view and sale before and after performance times with an opportunity to meet the artists and performers. It features photography, prose, poetry, artwork, quotes and even a resource section.

The BC Boat Show has grown to become the largest in-the-water boat show on the west coast. Proudly hosted by the British Columbia Yacht Brokers Association (BCYBA), the show is an opportunity for people to tour the boats of their dreams, explore the latest yachts – both new and used – and delight in many fascinating demonstrations at beautiful Port Sidney Marina. There are usually around 200 boats of all sizes in the water, as well as many marine related business displays featuring everything from boat yard services, hardware, equipment, navigation electronics, clothing, etc. Audience members can discuss the many features of the boats on display with knowledgeable and professionally certified yacht brokers.
