Noted axeman, multiplatinum singer-songwriter, Songwriters Hall Of Fame electee, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductee, and famously curmudgeonly shader of Black Keys Steve Miller took a look through his archives the other day and discovered an unreleased full length concert recording. After blowing off a few pounds of dust bunnies, he’s releasing it as Steve Miller Band Live! Breaking Ground: August 3, 1977.
The album will drop Friday May 14 in various formats including download, CD, and double LP black vinyl. There’s an accompanying live concert film, too, and that’ll stream on Amazon Prime Video‘s Coda Collection. Preorders are available here.
Says Miller: “This show from August of 1977 at the Cap Center in Landover, Maryland, captures the band right at the peak after The Joker, and in the middle of Fly Like an Eagle and Book of Dreams, a stream of hits…We decided to call it Breaking Ground because that’s exactly what we were doing.”
