This past Saturday, the crew at White Wolf Homes once again proved that building houses isn’t the only thing they’re good at, they’re pretty great at building community, too.
Their annual “Constructing Kindness” event took over the Central Saanich Fire Hall, and the whole day had that perfect mix of good vibes, big hearts, and neighbours showing up for each other.
From the moment the event kicked off, cars were rolling through with bags of groceries, non-perishables, and donation envelopes for the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank. The firefighters had the trucks out on display, giving little tours and making it extra fun for families dropping by.
There was music, volunteers everywhere, lots of friendly faces, and that wonderful buzz you only get at true community events, the kind where everyone’s just happy to be pitching in.
The Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank has been seeing record demand lately, so every can of soup, every dollar, and every drop-off really makes a difference. White Wolf Homes brings together builders, trades, and local businesses for this event every year, and it’s genuinely inspiring to see the construction community step outside the job site to support neighbours in need.
Sponsors, volunteers, families, everyone rallied. Donation bins were filling up fast, and the overall support looked just as strong (if not stronger) than past years. Final numbers are still coming, but judging by the turnout, it was another big success.
It was one of those Saturdays that reminds you just how generous and connected this community can be. Whether you dropped off a can of soup, wrote a cheque, helped run a table, or brought your kids to check out the fire trucks you were part of something great.
