The Tragically Hip have dropped Get Back Again, which was recorded prior to the band signing their first major label deal with MCA (now Universal) in November of 1988, before the Up To Here sessions. They performed Get Back Again as part of the Live At Misty Moon set, and that has been the only recorded version of the tune until now: it was recently remixed and remastered. The video was directed by Cleveland Henderson, the son of Pete Henderson, who directed many of the band’s videos including Locked In The Trunk Of A Car and Courage (For Hugh MacLennan).
This year is the 40th birthday of The Hip, and the 35th birthday of their debut Up To Here. To mark that, they’re readying an expanded box set reissue of the album, which will drop Friday November 08.
The package contains a remastered version of the original album, along with four previously unreleased tunes which didn’t make it onto the original. There’s also a live recording of the MuchMusic Live At Misty Moon special, in audio and Blu-ray formats. The Blu-ray also has an Atmos mix of the album, and studio outtakes. Finally, there are also some 1988 demos.
The band will also release a book, This Is Our Life, Tuesday October 01, and the Prime Video docuseries No Dress Rehearsal will arrive later this year.
