Lots of upgrades await hikers on the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail when it reopens next week.
The trail has seen close to a million dollars in improvements, with 50 new elevated tent platforms and new secure food cashes at camping areas. On the trail, approximately 600 metres of boardwalk, 20 new staircases and 19 new foot bridges have been added. The 47-kilometre trail along the southwest of Vancouver Island will reopen May 17th.
