Drivers who engage in street racing and stunt driving on British Columbia streets will have to think a little longer about the consequences as of a couple of days from now. As part of new penalties the province is imposing on bad drivers, they could lose their vehicles for up to 36 months.
The Ministry Of Public Safety says that starting Friday December 01, the existing 15 day prohibitions will be turfed and replaced with bans of between three and 36 months. The same penalties could be applied to a broader range of offenses including excessive speeding, driving without due care attention and other high risk behaviors.
