A Chat With The Elusive David Gogo
Noted blues rock axe-man and Christmas tree magnate David Gogo rocks out at the Tally-Ho Sports Bar And Grill tonight, and he’ll have a certain glow about him. Not because he’s with child, but rather because he recently got the nod for three Maple Blues Award nominations: Likely additions to his already considerable mantel-bending collection include Electric Act Of The Year, Guitarist Of The Year and Recording/Producer Of The Year (for the latest album Vicksburg Call).
All Maple Blues Award winners, except for instrumental categories, are determined by fan votes. You can vote until 1159pm PST Thursday December 01, right over here. The 20th annual Maple Blues Awards gala will be held in Toronto Monday January 23 at TELUS Centre for the Performing Arts: Koerner Hall at the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Showtime at the Tally-Ho tonight is 800 and tickets are available at the bar, or by calling 250 389 9411. David ventured out from his secret underground lair at Gogo Mountain and dropped in to the Rock Research Center this morning for a chat, which went something like this:
