Just days after they re-launch the North American leg of their The Who Hits 50! Tour, The Who will rip it up Friday March 04 at 1135PM on NBC‘s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. This will mark the iconic band’s first full tilt US nighttime talk show performance since their historic 1967 showing on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.
The Who Hits 50! Tour kicks off tomorrow in Detroit, and marks the beginning of 28 rescheduled dates from the band’s 2015 trek — which was postponed to allow Roger Daltrey time to recover from his recent bout with viral meningitis — and includes a stop in Vancouver Friday May 13, before wrapping Sunday May 29 in Las Vegas. Tickets for the originally scheduled shows will be honored at the new dates. For the tour openers, the band has set Tal Wilkenfeld to perform on the first 13 shows, with Slydigs to accompany them on the remaining dates. As well, 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Joan Jett and The Blackhearts, who accompanied the band on the first leg of this tour, will perform as special guests at the Thursday March 03 show at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Tickets and VIP packages for the shows are available at www.thewho.com.
