The Sooke Harbour Players present Fawlty Towers 3.5 And A Half, Saturday April 02 at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort, which is in considerably better shape than the hotel operated by Basil and Sybil, and Saturday April 09 and Sunday April 10 at the EMCS Theatre, which does not have any dead pigeons in its rooftop water tank. The Prestige show at 6pm includes a three course British dinner (not tripe, bangers and mash or steak and kidney pie); tickets are $75 at the Prestige front desk, or over here. The EMCS show is at 7pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday; tickets are $20 at Sooke vendors including Shoppers Drug Mart, The Stick, the EMCS program office, and again over there. Note: Ticket sales for the Prestige dinner show will end Saturday April 02 at 3pm. If you’d like to know more about the Sooke Harbour Players, have a look at their website.
Sarah “Sybil” Wilford took time out from getting caught in the eiderdown, and Paul “Basil” Holmes took time out from hitting Manuel on the forehead with a spoon to have a bit of a chinwag with me about the show, during which we managed to not mention the war. My first query, of course, was “what’s with that show title?”
