Joe Hicketts played for Canada’s gold medal U20 team at the 2015 World Junior Championship.

Great news and a proud moment for Victoria Royals fans. Royals defenceman and captain Joe Hicketts has been named as an alternate captain for Team Canada for the upcoming 2016 World Junior Hockey Championships in Helsinki, Finland. Moose Jaw Warriors’ forward Brayden Point will serve as captain for Team Canada.

Joe was a member of Canada’s gold medal winning squad at last year’s World Junior Hockey Championships. Through seven tournament games, Hicketts recorded three assists.

The tournament starts on Saturday with Team Canada opening the tournament versus the U.S. on Boxing Day. Game time is at 10am.
