Director Richard Linklater is giving the ’80s the Dazed and Confused treatment.

Linklater’s new film is Everybody Wants Some!! His movie Dazed and Confused (1993) was set in high school in 1976, and his upcoming movie Everybody Wants Some!! follows a group of college freshmen in 1980.

Watch the trailer below. It’s been called a “spiritual sequel” to Linklater’s Dazed and Confused (1993) or Boyhood. Linklater’s new movie begins where Boyhood (2014) ends, with a guy showing up at college and meeting his new roommates and a girl.

The official soundtrack is pretty impressive, too. In theaters this April, Everybody Wants Some!! features a soundtrack heavy with rock classics from the early ’80s.  It includes choice cuts from Van Halen (their song Everybody Want Some is on their 1980 album Women and Children First), plus Devo, Blondie, the Cars, Donna Summer, Parliament, the Knack, and Pat Benatar.

Everybody Wants Some!! is set in the ’80s and follows the lives of college freshmen.

“The Everybody Wants Some!! soundtrack tries to capture the amazing diversity of what was on the table musically at that time,” says Richard Linklater in a press release. “So many artists were at the top of their game, and it seemed like a lot of popular genres were viable. Metal and R&B were as big as ever, disco was still hanging in there, and, thanks to the movie Urban Cowboy, country was suddenly cool in places it hadn’t been before.”
