Mention Christmas and Radiohead don’t normally come to mind; they’re not the world’s most ho-ho-ho-ish band.  However, they did drop a bit of a present down their fans’ chimneys this year.

Scribbling on Soundcloud, they say “Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre.  It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much.  As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it.”

This one channels Radiohead piano numbers such as Videotape and Pyramid Song, gives a nod to the trademark soaring, foreboding Bond sound, and features Thom Yorke singing “Spectrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre”.  You’re not going to hear that again in this lifetime.
