If we’re interpreting Mötley Crüe bassman Nikki Sixx‘s comments correctly, Guns N’ Roses are getting back together. It appears that Axl Rose and Slash have buried the hatchet (not in each other’s skull) and that some sort of reunion is brewing. Slash has confirmed that the two have made up, and former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver wailer Scott Weiland — who completely nailed it recently when he let the feline out of the sack regarding Chester Bennington‘s exit from STP — also says that Guns N’ Roses, with some version of their classic lineup, will be joining forces once again. Nikki Sixx was recently asked by someone in the Twitterverse if GN’R should get back together to tour, whereupon he replied, in mostly caps, “THEY ARE. EVERYBODY KNOWS.”
“Sources close to the band” have been quoted lately as saying they’ll be back together soon. UK rag The Mirror quoted Slash’s friend John Murdy, an executive at the Universal Studios theme parks, as saying “I know that Slash and Axl talking again is a really good sign.” As for drummer Matt Sorum, he claims he’s in the dark, although he and original drummer Steven Adler seem pretty fired up about the possibility.
Meanwhile, the Guns N’ Roses Twitter feed is putting out somewhat cryptic posts. We’re now Binging to see if we can find out what a “jouranlist” is:
The Melodic Rock website has posted its speculation about the regrouped touring lineup: Axl Rose, Slash, Duff McKagan, Dizzy Reed, Richard Fortus and Frank Ferrer — which may not be good news for Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler and Matt Sorum.
So. What do you think?
