Filmmaker George Lucas has joined an exclusive group, including Harrison Ford, Steven Spielberg, Carrie Fisher and her dog Gary who have seen the finished Star Wars film due to open December 18th.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy says Lucas has struggled to watch his sci-fi franchise go on without his involvement after selling Lucasfilm to Disney for $4 billion in 2012. She tells The Hollywood Reporter that Lucas “really liked” the new movie, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.
