Stalwart new wave gents Duran Duran have announced the title of their new album.  Paper Gods is the first new material from the band in about five years, and will be out in September.

A day after the album reveal, the band announced new tour dates, which will include their first-ever gigs at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison Colorado — as well as a stop at the Washington State Fair in Puyallup, Wednesday September 23.

Paper Gods will be album number 14 for Duran Duran.  Pressure Off, which features Janelle Monae, will be a pre-release single.  The disc was produced by Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson and Mr. Hudson; guest musicians include former Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante.

Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers are no strangers:  he coproduced the Notorious album and the Wild Boys single, and remixed The Reflex.  Ronson, meanwhile, coproduced 2010’s All You Need To Know, their last album.

Love, Dr. Scott James
