Friday September 25, Eagles drummer, singer-songwriter and producer Don Henley will release his first solo album in 15 years.  The title of Cass County is taken from the northeastern Texas county from which Henley hails — and although the album sees him returning to his Eagles country roots, some of the tunes, such as Take A Picture Of This (which you can hear below) are very reminiscent of some of his previous solo efforts.

“I was born and raised in Texas.  I’m a Southerner and a Texan,” he says.  “So this is a natural progression for me.  It’s who I am and where I come from.”

Notable guests on Cass County include Merle Haggard, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, Dolly Parton and (one of these things is not like the others) Mick Jagger.

Love, Dr. Scott James
