West Shore RCMP Constable Sarah Beckett, who was killed early in April, will have a plaque formally unveiled in her honour today.
The inscription on the plaque reads In honour of the memory of RCMP Constable Sarah Anne Beckett, regimental #51939, perished in the line of duty April 5, 2016.
The 32 year old mother of two children died after a pickup collided with her cruiser in Langford. The driver of the truck was taken into custody and released the following day, with no charges laid, and the investigation is continuing.
Members of the public are invited to attend the ceremony, which begins at 9am at the West Shore RCMP detachment at 698 Atkins Avenue. Sarah’s family and Langford Mayor Stew Young will also be paying their respects.
