Convicted teen killer Kelly Ellard has been granted conditional day parole for six months.
Ellard is serving a life sentence for the second-degree murder of 14 year-old Reena Virk under the Craigflower bridge in 1997.
Ellard must first complete a residential treatment program for substance abuse.
This is second time Ellard has applied day parole. She was rejected in February of 2016 but was allowed temporary escorted trips to doctor’s appointments with a baby she had while in prison.
