Legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham will be honored with a statue in his hometown nearly 38 years after his death.
A local paper from Bonham’s hometown of Redditch reports that most of the funds for the memorial were raised through a private donations. The lifesize statue has the support of the drummer’s sister, Deborah.
The bronze statue will be unveiled in time for what would have been Bonham’s 70th birthday next May.
John Bonham died on September 25, 1980 after a heavy drinking binge. He was 32 years old.
